The Gorringe Park is at risk. A new planning application could remove key community spaces and change the building forever. At the same time, our ACV nomination has been submitted to help protect the pub while we work towards a proper revival.
There are three ways you can help right now:
A major planning application is under review. It would remove the first-floor community rooms, add multiple flats, and compromise the future of the pub.
The official deadline was 25 November, but the Council will still accept late comments. If you haven’t submitted one yet, we encourage you to do so — every individual response helps.
We’ve submitted an Asset of Community Value (ACV) nomination to help safeguard the pub. Click here to view our nomination.
You can still help strengthen the case by joining Project Gorringe — we are over 400 strong and growing daily.
Every name helps demonstrate the pub’s importance to local people.
We’re not just opposing a development — we’re building a better long-term plan.
In the coming weeks we’ll begin early conversations about what a revived Gorringe could offer:
a thriving pub run by a skilled operator
family-friendly spaces and events
flexible rooms for community use
a sustainable commercial model that brings the building back to life
